Know Your Fabric

Have you always wondered which fabric works best for what purpose? Or why cotton breathes and polyester dries faster? In " Know Your Fabric," we delve into the world of textiles and teach you how to truly look, feel, and choose.

This course is the perfect foundation for anyone who wants to make their own clothes, learn to design or simply gain a better understanding of fabrics.

What will you learn?

• What is a weave and what is a knit (and how do you recognize them)?

• The main raw materials : cotton, linen, wool, viscose, polyester, polyamide, etc.

• Why some fabrics stretch and others don't.

• Which fabrics are suitable for which garments.

• How to recognize fabrics by looking, feeling and testing (we do small experiments).

So you will not only listen, but also investigate, compare and discover.

Practical & Inspiring 

We combine theory with practice, so you understand it right away.
And the icing on the cake is a mini-tour of the fabric market . This way, you'll learn how to choose fabric wisely without getting overwhelmed.
